# BTC

BTC refers to [**Bitcoin**](https://bitcoin.org/en/). It is the first blockchain-based cryptocurrency. It first went online in 2009 and has a total supply of 21 million tokens. It is automatically issued in the form of fees that are awarded to miners and can be bought at various crypto exchanges. It is considered to be the cryptocurrency with the highest liquidity.
